1989 / 1990 Rawlings Tagging

In the Rawlings tagging primer, there is some discussion about 1989 jerseys showing up with what are shown in the primer as 1990 three line wash instructions.

Offered today on ebay is a 1989 Jay Aldrich Brewers jersey, that contains the three line 1990 style tagging.

late season order. style-change occurred late in the season. most 1989 jerseys were ordered during early spring so they didn't get the new "1990/91" style. a few late season orders in 1989 did get it.

If it shows up on a common player jersey, I wouldn't worry about it. The problem of the transition time stems from the fact that tagged Score Board retail jerseys from 1989 of major names (Ryan, Will Clark, Schmidt, Bo Jackson, etc.) all have this three-lined tag, creating confusion when newbies who aren't familiar with Score Board see decent (though not perfect) tagging and assume that the jersey is a gamer.:mad:
