Hi, hoping for some help. Anyone know what number Tony Cloninger wore for the Yanks during the 2000 World Series. I know that he wore 40 AND 41 that year, and the WS program lists his uniform as 41.

Did you get it on Steiner Auctions? If so, it is a # 40. Any idea what it is worth?
Look forward to your reply.

Ash actually no I didn't get it from Steiner Auctions, but I did make a slight mistake it is not from 2000. It is from 1999 World Series. I would personally put value on any World Series Yankees Jersey of a common player to coaches - $500 to $1,000.

Obviously semi stars and super stars would go for more.

By the way in 1999 he wore #40 in the World Series

Interesting on the 1999 jersey. The WS programs for 1999 and 2000 state that he wore # 41. I guess they were incorrect?

Well how do you know he wore #41 I am curious because besides a program that could of made a typo. Every picture I found of him, he is wearing #40.

According to the baseball almanac website, in 1999 Mike Buddie was #41 for the yankees during the regular season

Here you'll find some pics of cloninger from '99 spring training where he is listed as #41. (I think Buddie was 52 in Spring training) In the '99 spring training pic, he appears to be wearing a 1998 world series jersey

I don't, not saying that the program is correct. Seems that in 2000 he wore 41 and 40, with Neagle wearing 41 at some point after his trade (before taking # 12). So, 40 seems to be the corrct #, as no other person used it in 2000.

Ok I undertand that. But you said it seems he wore #41 and #40. I am not following you on that. Where does it seem he wore #41?

I am just trying to understand what your saying.

Thanks for the input Eric. I think that the mystery has been solved, with 40 being the likely number. ;)
