Question for you Oakland A's experts

I've been looking for a nice Frank Thomas gamer from his roughly 2 seasons with Oakland for quite a while. Saw this BP jersey on ebay but I know nothing about their styles. The seller has other A's BP jerseys for sale in the similar style. What do you guys think? Is this a legit jersey worn by The Big Hurt? Thanks kindly in advance for any info or insight you might be able to share.

No, there were none of these jerseys at the fanfest, I was one of the first people through the door. I wouldn't trust someone that would lie about how the jersey was acquired. Ricardo

There was one Thomas BP available at Fanfest 2007. There were none at Fanfest 2009, although there was a size 48 BP with number 35. I left it because size 48 is cleaerly too small to be Thomas'.

Technically, there was one other Thomas BP jersey for sale at the 2007 Fanfest but it was a size 40, which is obviously too small for the Big Hurt. I asked Steve Vuccinich about it and he said it was for Frank Thomas' son and he wasn't sure how it made it out on the rack!

As for the size 48, number 35 BP jersey on eBay, it was probably either worn by former A's coach Brad Fischer or by an A's minor leaguer. There's a seller on eBay who always has used A's BP jerseys for sale w/o LOAs but at least he doesn't claim they're worn by any particular player. Personally, I would stay away from any A's BP jersey that does not come with a team LOA from either Fanfest or the community fund auction. Just my $0.02.

the other guy who sells ST jerseys on Ebay I know personally and he is friends with Vuch. He very rarely states a certain player because he really doesn't know. He gets them when they are too beat up to hand down the next season but they are all legit Oakland Athletics spring jerseys you just need to track down the season to figure out who wore them.

On Saturday, the number 35 BP was the first jersey on the rack facing the windows. And the person selling on Ebay is a veteran collector and former Giants Spring Training team pharmacist; no jokes please. He was friends with many in the Giants front office, including long-time owner Horace Stoneham. He was also a close friend of Dick Dobbins, who introduced me to him nearly 20 years ago. He is one of the most honest and dedicated members of the hobby.

Hippo 916, I hate to break it to you but the person selling the jersey is Robb Wochnick of Wilsonville Or, who has never been either a pharmacist or asscoiated with the Giants except when he sold their jerseys for a brief period (1997-8). The person that you're referring to is Stan Marks of Arizona.

                      Lon,

Yes, I was only referring to Stan and the equipment, including BP jerseys he occasionally sells on Ebay. I am not commenting on the number 35 BP currently on Ebay.
