Hi -- what do you mean by "non polyester" jersey? To the best of my knowledge, Clark only played in an era where polyester jerseys were worn...

I should have been more specific. Giants jerseys 77 to 82 I am trying to avoid. Especially the orange travel jersey. Just never could get into that look. 83 or later Giants jerseys, Yankees, or Red Sox would be ideal.

Whiteswan, if the original poster is not interested in the hat I may be.

Re: Jack Clark and Dave Parker

I have a presentation pocket watch supposedly given to Dave Parker at the 1985 All Star game. I'm researching to verify it. I know the players were given rings but am wondering if the watch may have been for winning the Home Run Derby. It was the first official year for the HRD.

Anyone have any advice on how to verify what presentation items were given out for the 1985 AS game? I'm emailing the Twins but wonder if items are given out by the host city team or MLB.

I'll keep your email address if this ends up being Parker's watch.

As you research that Parker pocket watch, it might be worth looking into exactly what options were available to players who appeared in the All-Star Game. For example, I purchased the collection of a player who appeared in two All-Star Games, and he was never given a ring. Instead, he opted for a pair of mantle-style clocks that were engraved. Could be Parker took the watch instead of a ring.

                        Rob,

Thanks for taking the time to reply! That is very interesting. And it does help me be a bit more inclined that this watch is indeed what they said. That jogged a memory from long ago of hearing something similar to that of players being given a choice. It makes sense. I appreciate the advice but won't make a 100% judgment until I know more ... but it gives me a little more to work with. Thank you!
