I noticed this item on Ebay last week, and it intregued me enough to re-read to Dowd report. While reading the report, there are 40 to 50 photo copies of exhibits that you can look at (banks statements, checks etc.), I couldn't believe that one of those exhibits is actually this check. I know it's not a game used item, but this was actual evidence used to give Pete the boot.

Yea, I would have bought it but I just didn't have the dough right now. Pretty infamous check.

I thought your post of meeting Pete was awsome. Did you see the monitor on his table showing the horse races? When I saw him he was sitting at his table betting on the horses, then when I needed his sig, he turned down the volume and was super nice. His hands are freaking huge!

I had him sign a black MLB baseball with a gold pen "I'm sorry I bet on baseball". I'll get framed with the check and send you some pics when I get done, should look sweet.

You won the check? Awesome. Seriously, that's a part of baseball history. A bad part-but still history.

I was so excited this morning I forgot to mention that I won the auction.

Yes, this is a very cool item. I had not seen it... and if I had, I would have been tempted to place a bid. Nice pick-up.

$670

I though it was a good deal, I'm sure others would think I paid
too much. If the check was not shown in the Dowd Report, I wouldn't have bought it.

Normally a Rose check wouldn't be near that much, but if yours was a Dowd Report exhibit I would think the price was fair.

Wow, he must have really sucked at betting. Awesome piece of memorabilia.

From what I understand, this would have to have been one of Pete's smaller gambling debts. It's unfortunate - he has a terrible problem.

A terrible gambling problem is when Jordan lost 1.2 million in one night at the Hardrock Casino here in Tampa during superbowl weekend!

From what I understand he had a blackjack table to himself and bet 10K per hand and played the full table.
