    Jersey Size

How do you correctly measure the size of baseball jersey. If the label on the jersey indicates it is a size 40, how do you verify that the label is consistent with the size of the jersey. Are there other things to consider when properly sizing a jersey, i.e. shrinkage over time.

    Re: Jersey Size

Cooincidentially, I just raised this same question in another thread. Here's the method I was told, confirmed by forum members.

Lay the jersey out flat and measure from the bottom of one sleeve seam to the bottom of the other sleeve seam (i.e. from arm pit to arm pit). Double that number and you have the actual jersey size.

So, for example, if the jersey is 24" from seam to seam, the actual jersey size is 48.
