Hey gang - my first post here but I wanted to say thanks to everyone for the great info on building my own jersey display cases. After looking at the jaw dropping costs on Ebay and elsewhere, I decided to tackle it myself. This forum provided the best information and photographs. I used several different instructions and provided my own twist with the crackle paint. Gives it a different touch....nothing hanging yet, just threw stuff in for the photos. Need to get some hangars and get them mounted (along with the other mountain of stuff to hang).

Plexi fronts, all standard 2x materials, simple piano hinges, magnetic catch. 1/4" Birch backing. Would imagine they ran around $40 to $45 each - the paint made it probably more like $55 each. About 2 hours each with the painting (the crackle paint is a pain, should have hired Martha to come help).

Ended up making 6 - 2 Panthers, 2 Red Sox and 2 Celtics...

Let me know your thoughts or questions. Thanks again!

Looks real nice, like the color of the background. Just make sure that paint does not come off onto the jerseys at all.

Yeah I was initially worried about that. Dries just like any other latex after about 48 hours.

If it's Latex, just make sure there's no pressure against it... Latex can 'stick' to items that have pressure against it and peel up...

Laquer paints will harden and not peel away... I do like the color coded cases though - great idea...

Just my .02

Wow, nice job. Puts plain old plexiglass to shame...

The wood hanger really is such a great look and your are oversized which helps keep a nice shape on the jersey!

Here are two that I made my self. My Antonio Freeman gamer I have in a case I bought, I paid around $350 for that it is Museum Quality U.V. though and I have about $35 in the ones I make my self.

Did you make your hangers that are in the case?

While not encased, this does the job for me (made by a buddy's dad)
