Any info on vintage baseball pants?

    Hi,

I'm trying to find out a bit about a pair of baseball pants I own (and probably have forgotten about for 15-20 years).

The pictures are below. From what I can remember, they were game-used from the Cincinnati Reds. As you may be able to make out in the pictures, the numbers "25 34 26" are sewn into the waist. I'm guessing these are the uniform number, waist size and length?

There is a fair amount of writing on the inside waist as well. "Merritt" and "Bennett" are the two most obvious names written. Jim Merritt played with the Reds from '69 - '72, so that could make sense, but there was no Bennett on the Reds around those years.

Can anyone shed any light on these pants for me? Any idea on any approximate value?

    Thanks!
    Scott

Dennis Bennett played for the Angels in 1968 and wore number 25... he also wore 38 the year before that with the Mets...

    I could be reaching here
