OT: Placement Stars 2008 All-Star

What are your opinion on placement star? I guess they use them as placement holder so that player/person knows where to stand during the pre game ceremony. Below are the placement stars used in an All-Star game Ceremony.

Is this something that seem collectible to you. Would you want to have one of your favorite player if it was available.

The photo is Yogi Berra and Gary Carter and I guess the other stars are for the starters of the game.

I was at a signing with Cal Ripken Jr in NJ last December and someone had him sign his placement holder from the 2000 All Century Team ceremony. Cal questioned what it was and we learned what it actually was, he thought it was a very cool piece (was the first I had ever seen one).

I would be interested in one from the player I collect, although, he was injured at the time. I know he took part in the work-out day, so I'm not sure if there is a star for him. Do you have access to them? If so, please let me know.

I'm assuming only the starters had placement stars, none of the non starters and extra pitchers had them right?

based on my research, the only one that would be available are the starters from the game. if you see the photo a posted, the hall of fame players were already on the placeholders and then they announced the starters (the end placeholder) so cristian guzman would not have one.

i am not a dealer, but if we know who wants one, maybe we can work a bulk deal and get a discount that way.
