Orioles to Sell Game Used Baseballs

Saw this on MASN's web-site this morning. While it's unclear (to me anyways) whether they will be selling GU balls just today or at every home game, it's probably worth checking out:

MASNsports.com provides maximum access coverage of the Baltimore Orioles and Washington Nationals.

I think the $30 price point is a fair price too.

Many of the balls they are authenticating now gives details of what happened to the ball like Smith pitch fouled by Markakis in the 4th inning.

There are some really cool balls you can get from the game now.

If the authenticated ball has details such as "pitch in dirt-Jones pitched to Smith 6th inning" you should go to MLB.com's scoreboard calendar for that date, and check the pitch-by-pitch gameday. It will tell the type of pitch, speed, and count. It will also allow you to check against the occasional clerical error. For example, one listing was for a ball fouled by Sosa in the 8th inning, when MLB.com showed he didn't bat that inning. It was evidently a typo for 7th or 9th innings, when he did bat, with fouls. Those detailed authentications are probably 95% correct but not perfect.
