Wanted opinion on game used gloves that only have a JSA certificate. What is a JSA certificate worth on a game used item.

here is an example:

I would say nothing on a game used item, JSA is only authenticating the Pujols autograph and not the glove.

The cert says JSA thinks the autograph on the glove is genuine, which is better than if he said he thought it was a forgery.

If you're considering a Pujols glove, please read this article published on the Pujols Family Foundation's Web site: http://pujolsfamilyfoundation.org/images/AUTOGRAPH%20PujolsPrimer2006.pdf

Looks like that reference sheet is in need of an update...

Some valuable information on the Pujols site, however, it's from December, 2006. During the last 2 1/2 years, one would expect Pujols to change bat models, color, etc. Likewise, the characterisitics on his gloves may have also changed?

Possibly Rob Steinmetz and/or youcan update this information to include the 2007/2008 seasons?

Yeah, the article could use an update, but the information from 2001-06 is still useful -- especially as it relates to a Mizuno glove that supposedly dates to Pujols' rookie season.

very nice article. have you a done similar writeups for other ballplayers such as arod. it would be a great source. tell me what other players you have made primers for and where it is located on the web.

Since Albert wore Mizuno batting gloves does it not seem likely Mizuno tried to win him over with a test model fielding glove? He easily could have used this in pre-game or practice. The seller does say this in a round-a-bout way.

I agree though it is NOT from his rookie season.

Iam NOT the seller and have no affiliation but it is NOT out of the ordinary for this to happen.

mizuno did not come out with that type of glove until 2004 and later

Do you have photos of Albert wearing Mizuno batting gloves in a major league game? I'd love to see them.

The only players I've written articles about are Pujols (http://webpages.charter.net/birdbats/Birdbats/Notes%20and%20Articles/Pujols%20bat%20buyers%20guide.htm) and McGwire (http://webpages.charter.net/birdbats/Birdbats/Notes%20and%20Articles/McGwire%20bat%20buyers%20guide.htm)... and those focus on bats only.
