DALLAS (AP) -- A baseball signed by New York Yankees great Joe DiMaggio and actress Marilyn Monroe sold for $191,200 in a sports memorabilia auction.
Chris Ivy, director of sports auctions for Heritage Auction Galleries, said Sunday that the ball that sold Saturday night is the only known baseball autographed by both the Hall of Famer and the actress with her name as "Marilyn Monroe."

The ball from the estate of late Associated Press photographer Harry Harris was purchased by an anonymous buyer described as "an East Coast collector who is a big fan of both DiMaggio and Monroe," Ivy said.
Ivy said DiMaggio and Monroe autographed the ball during the Yankees' 1961 spring training in Florida when they were trying to reconcile after divorcing.
Ivy said a baseball signed by DiMaggio and Monroe using her name Norma Jean DiMaggio sold for about $50,000 seven years ago.
The earliest known baseball bat used by Ty Cobb also was among the items in the $2 million auction. An anonymous collector purchased it for $44,812, Ivy said.
