    Authenticating a Home Run Bat

I have a Mo Vaughn bat with documentation that it was the bat he used to hit his 200th home run. My problem. The documentation is a statement from the bat boy who was given the bat. He was the visiting team bat boy for the Twins that matches up to the date and place where Vaughn hit #200. The statement is not on letter head, and I am not sure how to confirm he was a bat boy with the Twins. I have tried the various sport photo sites in hopes of a photo match, with no success. The bat does have a unique crack near the knob. Any ideas on how to document the bat? I don't want to get carried away with this, but I have had this underlying curiosity to confirm one way or another the bats authenticity. I thought this groups collective minds might be able to provide some good input.

    Thank you.

How about starting by looking in a 1999 Media Guide for the Twins with 1998 stats and see who was the visiting club bat boy? They were usually from MN for both dugouts.

Also, if you can find a team-issued 2000 Twins team photo, the batboys in team photos are usually sitting on the ground in front. If the photo has name IDs for each player/coach/etc., the batboys may be ID'd as well, at least by last name.

Dave is on the mark; team pictures may be your best bet as I've never seen a Media Guide list bat boys
