    Floyd Patterson Passes at 71

"Champion Ingemar Johansson lies on the canvas after challenger Floyd Patterson, center, knocked out Johansson in the fifth round at the Polo Grounds in New York City, in this June 20, 1960 photo. Patterson became the first man in history to regain the heavyweight championship title that he lost to Johansson a year ago. Patterson, who came back from an embarrassing loss to become the first boxer to regain the heavyweight title, died Thursday. He was 71. Patterson died at his home, in New Paltz, N.Y., having suffered from Alzheimer's disease for about eight years, according to nephew Sherman Patterson. He also had prostate cancer." (AP Photo)

I found it interesting that when Patterson won the Middleweight title in the 1952 Olympics, he weighed 182 pounds and his last fight in 1972, a loss to Muhammad Ali he weight just over 188 pounds.
