You can pick up this bat on ebay. So far it is only up to $2200.00 on auction with 5 plus days to go or use buy it now for only 6000 grand. Pujols is a great player but these prices are just out of hand.

Or, how about this nice Pujols game used jersey on ebay for $3000 starting bid. It actually has come down from the $5k starting bid from 2 weeks ago. That probably is actually not a bad starting price. But considering the man has 12-15 more years worth of games to play perhaps these prices are just a wee bit inflated.

333, 19HR, 48RBI's through May 15th. Truely one of the best starts in MLB history. This is the last time I will attempt to sell this Albert Pujols autographed G/U jersey on ebay. It you don't bid now and are still interested in the jersey you'll be able to find it on American Memorabilia's next auction where it will sell for a much higher price. As mentioned before, I need the money ASAP in order to pay for my family dog's hip surgery. I am reducing the starting price of the jersey to $3000. Those who know anything about G/U sports memorabilia know that this starting price is very reasonable and well under the jersey's true value. Albert Pujols is coming off a stellar 2005 MVP season and is exploding out of the gates this season. This is an amaizing piece of game used memorabilia and is autographed by Albert on the sweet spot of the #5 on the back of the jersey. This jersey has been certified 100% authentic by Lou Lampson who is considered one of the most respected authenticators in the industry, so you know you are getting the real thing. This St. Louis road (size) "48" jersey exhibits thorough use. The "5" has noticeable puckering and has frayed substantially. "Pujols" and "5" are both done in two-color scheme. The NOB is sewn onto a nameplate. Pujols signed the back number in black Sharpie. The front features the classic double Cardinal logo along with Cardinals scripted across the front. Velcro fastener beneath the yellow bat on front. Authentic Majestic tag with size tag attached to the tail. Pujols is just getting better and better. Serious bidders only please. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask.

You can tell from the button spacing (between the second and third buttons) that the eBay jersey is from spring training 2003. That's the only time the Cardinals jerseys had that characteristic. When the regular season started, the buttons were spaced more evenly, as they are today.

Here's a link to a photo of Pujols during spring training 2003:

Note the spacing of the buttons. Also note the placement of the "5" under the Cardinals logo. Single digit numbers were not flush right (aligned with the right side of the logo), but positioned closer to the buttons.

As always, be very careful when considering Pujols game-used items.

Cardinals jerseys with the high buttons can be found on regular season 2003 jerseys as well. Not many but they were used. Look at Getty image "2512088" of Woody Williams in a game played May 5, 2003 vs. the Reds. You can see the same buttons as the Pujols jersey. I also saw Scott Rolen wearing a high button jersey in 2004.

Hope this helps.

Yeah, but what about the WBB bat? Is that thing a nice piece of lumber or what? Who plans to ante up $6 g's to buy it now?

Jeff is correct about the shot of Woody Williams from early 2003. He clearly is wearing the "high button" jersey. I cannot explain why he's wearing his spring training jersey a month into the season, but there surely was a reason.

The fact remains that these jerseys were from the spring training set. The Cardinals have been using separate jerseys for spring training and switching to new jerseys on opening days for the past few seasons. In 2005 and 2006, you can tell the difference (at least on the home whites) because the spring jerseys don't have the "Final Season at Busch" or the "New Busch" patches.

Here's a link to 141 photos from spring training 2003:

Here's a link to 342 photos from the 2003 regular season:

It's certainly possible that Woody Williams isn't the only player who wore a spring jersey during the regular season. But the photos show those instances would have been the exceptions and not the rule.

Anyone have any opinions on what kind of market value these game used WBC bats have right now? Since it was the first one and a player of Pujols stature used this thing heavily it seems, it appears that it would be a very unique and somewhat pricy item. I don't know about 6k or whatever the reserve is since it has not been met yet, but it still appears to be a very, very nice bat.

Never mind about the bat, I saw that this bat was originally posted on ebay back on April 21st and is still being listed and run. I thought the price looked way too high especially if the seller thinks he is getting 6k for this bat. I saw that there was a series of posts on here back on 4/21 about the bat. As evidenced by the fact that the bat is still around, it seems to prove that theory. Since Albert will have hundreds of other bats the price is way high. Being the fact that this is a unique piece from the WBC it should definitely go for more than a regular pujols but 5-6k is just over the top. What is interesting is that on the original auction, the buy it now price was 5k now it is up to 6k. The seller could not sell it at 5 yet now is upping it by 1k. Does not make too much sense unless he thinks Pujols start to the season is causing it or should cause it to go that high.
