1980 to present Adirondack knob question..

Should all 1980 to present Adirondack bats have the model # AND the 4 digit year code below that on them? Are there some out there that don't have the 4 digit code on them? And would transtion year from 1979 to 1980 be most likely to be missing it? Thanks experts.

Late in the 79 season Adirondack changed the center brand to the 80 version and these bat did not have the 3 digit lot or year (0) codes. This was reported in a Gone Bats article in SCD.

I also owned one such bat which was a red ring Joe Morgan gamer.

For post 79 bats the other exception would be post season or all star game bats. During the 80 s post season bats only had model numbers and player initials stamped on the knobs. Some ws bats also had the year stamped under the player initials.
