I have a similar bat to this and was told it was a store model by one of the members here becasue of the Registerd "R" after Parkers name.. i am really curious if this is a Game Model bat... I don't know alot about 80's LS as i tend to collect current stars.. Any help would be great... AJ

I have NEVER heard that the registered mark by a player's name meant store model. This bat look great to me. Could the member who told you that please explain?

Ken-

This came from me, the bat was offered to me and I passed on buying from him due to the registered mark (and mentioned the member should post here for further clarification if needed).

I was told by a dealer a number of years back that this was the case re: the registered marks near the signature (not being on gamers) and I've never really seen another as an example (aside from the one linked to above). It certainly doesn't seem to be the norm...

Please point out some other player's gamers w/ this mark (a picture if possible also), was this common at one point in time on LVS?

Absolutely! As I was reading down this thread....I kept thinking....Bench...Bench...

Its too bad other people have to give bad opinions/advance to others. Thats not directed towards anyone, Im just saying in general.

If you go to HOF bats and check out the bat archives you can see all the Bench bats Tim sold, with the "R".....

For clarification, I've never offered this bat to anyone to if anyone claims so they are wrong. This bat is for the first time being offered through CharityBats.com (http://www.charitybats.com)

Thanks!

Uh, I didn't say I was offered your Parker bat, but the Parker bat in question at the top of the thread started by the forum member.

Based on research done by Dave Grob, the filing date for registration of Parker's signature name by H & B WAS on 7/15/1979 and the registration date was 4/28/81. Other similar H & B filings at various times included Babe Ruth, Johnny Bench, Pete Rose, and Jim Rice.
