Brett Gardner (http://www.nydailynews.com/topics/Brett+Gardner) (fractured left thumb) will remain in a hard cast through the weekend before having another round of X-rays taken early next week. Gardner said he's been working out during his stint on the disabled list, "doing everything but throwing and hitting" to stay in shape.
Several teammates have offered to sign his cast, though he's declined to this point. Gardner said he may have some teammates sign it once it's off to give him a unique piece of memorabilia, later joking, "Steiner (Sports) probably has the rights to my cast."
