Just a couple of questions here. This jersey just posted on auction. There is currently another jersey same year, road jersey on ebay for a buy it now price of $12k. I am not a B-ball jersey expert or a Lakers jersey expert and have included info from both auctions. The Lakers played 3 road games in Indiana in 99-2000. How many of jersey's would Kobe or any player for that matter wear during 3 road game series? Does any expert have an opinion on this? Are these the two existing road jerseys from that series or were there more or less? Just kind of interesting, both jersey's have been graded as well. Any opinions would be helpful.

Thanks
Brett

DESCRIPTION:

A superb relic from Kobe's first championship victory, presented here is a game used mesh jersey worn by Bryant during the 1999-00 NBA Finals. The front side of the jersey features an official L.A. Lakers/NBA Authentics Nike tage which features the special "Length +4" designation. On the inside lower left is the wash tag and under this is the year tag "1999-00." Across the front of the jersey is the team name and Bryant's name is featured across the back. The letters are made of gold and white tackle twill. On the upper left front is the "NBA" patch above this is a black armband commemorating the death of Wilt Chamberlin. On the upper right is the "NBA Finals" patch. Capping off this jersey is a handsome black Sharpie signature of Kobe across the front number "8" (10/10). Aside from light signs of game usage this jersey stands in overall impeccable condition. LOAs from Grey Flannel and PSA/DNA. http://www.urauctions.com/site/images_items/thumbs/thumb_Item_4992_1.jpg (http://javascript<b></b>: updateBigImage('Item_4992_1.jpg');)http://www.urauctions.com/site/images_items/thumbs/thumb_Item_4992_2.jpg (http://javascript<b></b>: updateBigImage('Item_4992_2.jpg');)http://www.urauctions.com/site/images_items/thumbs/thumb_Item_4992_3.jpg (http://javascript<b></b>: updateBigImage('Item_4992_3.jpg');)http://www.urauctions.com/site/images_items/thumbs/thumb_Item_4992_4.jpg (http://javascript<b></b>: updateBigImage('Item_4992_4.jpg');)http://www.urauctions.com/site/images_items/thumbs/thumb_Item_4992_5.jpg (http://javascript<b></b>: updateBigImage('Item_4992_5.jpg');)Click on a thumbnail image above to display a larger image below.

This is the Holy Grail of basketball jerseys, a "Kobe Bryant championship game used Lakers jersey". This is the actual jersey Kobe wore in the finals in 1999-2000 Kobe's very first championship with the Lakers. Kobe became only the second player in NBA history to score 81 points in an official basketball game. Also Kobe owns the the Lakers record for scoring 40 points in at least 23 games this season breaking Elgin Baylor's all time record of 22. Kobe also has the Highest scoring average in the NBA this season 34 points a game average. Without a doubt Kobe will win basketball's most valuable player this year. If Kobe keeps playing the way he has been there will be no stoping him. Remember Kobe is still young in his twenties not even in his prime just imagine. Here is a little information about this super rare Kobe jersey. On the left front tail of the shirt is the “Nike” label with the size “48” and adjacent is the “NBA Authentics” label. Below the Nike label is the “Length + 4” label. On the inside lower left is the wash tag and under this is the year tag “1999-00.” Across the front of the jersey is the team name “Lakers” and on the back is the name “Bryant.” The letters are made of gold on white tackle twill. The player number “8” appears on both the front and back of the jersey in white on gold tackle twill. On the upper left front is the “NBA” patch and above this is a black armband commemorating the death of Wilt Chamberlain. On the upper front is the “NBA Finals” patch. There is an autograph on the front number that has been authenticated by PSA/DNA. You will get two full letters one from Grey Flannel and one from PSA/DNA.

I just noticed this when looking at the PSA/DNA sticker. Both jersey's have the identical number. They are the same jersey according to this. What is strange, is that I just asked the seller late last night if he still had this jersey available on ebay and he replied this morning that he does as it is still an active auction. However, this auction through Universal Rarities just went live late last night so how can the same item be on two auctions at the same time. If anybody has an explanation for that I would like to hear it.

Thanks
Brett
