Congrats, Glen!! She's beautiful. My wife and I had a little girl too (our first) a few months ago. She was six weeks early and spent some time in NICU as well. Everything's fine now though. I have no doubt Maryn's in good hands. Let us know when you take her home!

My boy spent his first 10 days in the NICU. The skill and dedication those people have is unbelievable. She's in good hands I'm sure. Congratulations!

Wow! Good to hear everything worked out. NICU's a tough place for parents but the care all the little ones get there is truly amazing. Those people are just awesome. Our daughter was there for three weeks. When we finally got her home my wife and I brought cards and about six dozen cupcakes to the NICU staff. Had one of the nurses been into game used, I swear I would've given him/her whatever he/she wanted out of my collection too.

We live 60 miles from the hospital our son was every day for 3 MONTHS... I credit St. John's for his life however. My wife had pre-eclamsia. We had no idea there was an issue until her 26th week, and then all hell broke lose.

Erik is 12 now, tall and skinny as a rail. I doubt he'll ever have a weight issue. He burns it all off and is very high energy anyway. To the contrary, my wife had gestational diabetes with out second one, daughter Emily who was 1 month early and 8 pounds 3 ounces!! We went on either side of the scale. Decided to have no more after that as we are blessed with what we have!!!

Congrats, Chicagoglen!

I have a four year old daughter and three year old son, and they have been the joy of my life.

Enjoy every moment. Take lots of pictures (don't forget to label them so you know when they were taken!).

And, welcome to the madness of parenthood!

Kind Regards,

Ron.

That is the grail of grails! Congratulations. It took me my 5th try to get a daughter. My daughter was 3 1/2 months early along with her twin brother at 1 pound 11 ounces each. The NICU isn't where you want to start off, it just is one of those curve balls of starting life!!!!

My daughter came 5 weeks early, we were actually in our 2nd birthing class at the hospital and in the class, the chalk board read "when my water breaks", when my wife's water broke! Crazy story! Anyways, don't worry, everything will be great. My daughter is now 2.5 and as crazy as ever!!! Good luck and congrats!
