Hi Jersey,

Unfortunately, that is not a game-worn Rangers jersey.

The Rangers did not use felt letters and numbers on their jerseys in the 1950s and 1960s. They used two-color tackle twill letters in a drop shadow old English style on the fronts of their jerseys and two color tackle twill numbers on the backs.

Also, they did not add numbers to the sleeves of their jerseys until 1958-5 ... and then, they were two color (red and white) tackle twill in a drop shadow style on the home blue jerseys and one color (blue) on their white jerseys.

Sorry, Barry

Two other discrepancies:

The Rangers did not have red collars on their wool jerseys in this era, the colors were blue.

And the widths of the stripes on the arms and body were different than the patterns on the jersey you posted.

My best guess would be a store-bought replica.

Hi Jerseys,

I would not feel comfortable putting a value on this replica, since MeiGray's and my personal NY Rangers expertise is in gamers.

I do not have enough info on this replica to even say that it is from the 50s, 60s or any other era.

Sorry, Barry

Outside chance that it might be a Kitchener Rangers jersey?

"The roots of the Kitchener Rangers are traced back to the 1947–48 hockey season when the franchise was formed as the Guelph Biltmore Mad Hatters. In 1960 the "Biltmores" as they were often called became the Guelph Royals. At the end of the 1962–63 season, a local business entrepreneur named Eugene George, was approached by the New York Rangers (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York_Rangers) about moving the team to Kitchener in hopes of building a more stable junior environment."

I sold this "Rangers" jacket (see picture below) on ebay some time ago (and it looks to have ended up with Mears. Not sure of the team...
