I am no NBA and/or Lakers jersey expert. However I noticed this Magic Johnson LATE CAREER gamer. At this point in Magic's career he probably weighed around 235ish....and at a true height of 6'8....could he even wear a size 42??? Really? Could he? Would he?

Hmm, does seem a little odd  I'm not as familiar with that year jersey, but I did find a couple Getty images showing the NBA logo placement higher than the one in the AMI auction. Then were was 1 purple jersey shot in late 1991 that was lower with him and Worthy in a shot... Double hmm!

I think the size might be ok, but not sure. Remember, Magic only bulked up later when he went to 46..

Regardless of a possible size discrepancy, another fellow collector/member here Mark, let me know that the front 'LAKERS' logo is positioned incorrectly too high on the AMI jersey when compared to the arm holes and verifying with Getty's.

Here's some 90-91 Getty's showing the "L" relative to the arm hole, which is lower than AMI:

This one shows the 'S' on the right side relative to the arm hole, which is lower than AMI:

I forgot to post links, but EVERY 90-91 Magic purple road jersey has the NBA logo placed higher than in the AMI jersey. Tsk tsk...

It's a NO GO for me!

It's amazing how easy it takes in 10-15mins to verify these things, at least on an NBA jersey. The NBA logo is a sure bet and so easy to tell in so little time :)

Dunno why, but a couple of those Getty's links didn't work?!
Ah, I'll just post them all up for ya'all :)

And you can also clearly see in ALL 90-91 Getty pics that the NBA logo is placed a lot higher then AMI's.
