In the early 70's the team would wear white jerseys at home games. Their names were accidently left off the jerseys. Thanks ChaCha

I'd want to see photographic evidence of this before I gave it credibility. As Jeff said, they've had NOB flannels from 1962-70 and NOB knits from 1971-present.
The fact that many of these NNOB Cardinals flannels (and knits) carry a year/set flag tag causes some sellers to either engage in wishful thinking or outright deception in offering these as MLB jerseys, often classified as "spring training" jerseys, when they are actually minor league pieces.
The only way a 1962-2009 Cardinals home or road jersey can be legitimate and not have a NOB is if the name was removed, in which case the number should be lower on the back (to accommodate the NOB above it) and stitch imprints should exist, at least to a degree observable under black light or strong light, of the NOB lettering. The presence of a year/set flag tag in and of itself is not exclusive to MLB Cardinals gamers.
