Regarding Buckner's use of H & B Model G105 bats, over the course of his career 1959-1990 there is only one documented order of that model in his factory records. That order was shipped on 3/22/71 and consisted of six Model G105 bats, 34.5 inches in length weighing 33 ounces with a Flame Treated Finish.
Over the course of his career, Buckner favored Model K55 Louisville Sluggers in lengths of 34, 34.5, and 35 inches, generally weighing between 33 and 35 ounces. Other mopdels he ordered in any significant amounts included Mc44 (1970), C300 (1983), R43C (1984), K75 (1985-1986), and C271 (1987-1990).
In the 1973-1975 labeling period in particular, which you asked about, he was shipped approximately 216 Model K55 bats and 24 Model J69 bats.
Let me know if there is a specific bat you are looking at...If it is a G105 bat, check the labeling again as there should not be a registered trademark symbol above the letter "d" in the word powerized, only after the words "LOUISVILLE SLUGGER" in the center oval in order to match Buckner's personal factory records.
