First, let me start by saying I know and understand there is a "discuss this lot" option on each lot which takes you to the threads designed to discuss each lot individually......but I have a general comment on three different, but similar, jerseys, so instead of hitting them separately, I hope it's ok I am placing the comments here in this manner.

It is an impressive auction, and I certainly don't want to take away from the hard work and professional presentation of the lots and the pictures......all done very well, congrats to the GUU team.

That said, I am deeply concerned with three items from what is largely accepted as a "sound source" of game used Dodger equipment.

The lots I will refer to, the Nomar Garciaparra home Dodger Jersey, the Takashi Saito home Dodger jersey, and the David Wells road Dodgers jersey, all claim to be game used and have stickers by "Steiner". They are lots #46, 48, and 61, respectively. They are all suposedly from 2007, and this is the only year of Dodger jerseys I see this issue with. Others offered in the auction are from 2008 and are not included in this discussion.

Besides some "issues" I would feel free to discuss, there is one similar and overwhelming problem I see with these three jerseys that I would like to ask the fine members about who have Dodger jersey experience and knowledge.

If you look at all three jerseys on the front, you can see the stitch lines just under the second "d" on the home Dodgers, and the "n" of "Angeles" on the road jerseys, which are what I believe to be for the "velcro" patches that are stiched onto the jerseys.

First off, could anyone from GUU admin please verify this is what I am seeing? DO THESE JERSEYS have velcro patches stitched into the front center of the button area behind the team identifiers?

If so, it is my understanding that the Dodgers have never worn a gamer that has included "velcro" stitched into the jersey. These are the kind of jerseys they sell in the team stores on the premises.

Comments?

I see what you're talking about (I looked at the Garciaparra). Someone who knows about Dodgers jerseys should comment. I know practice varies from team, but it was my understanding that velcro is what many teams use(d). I have jerseys from the A's (which I got at fanfest so I know they're legit) and they're are the old heavy material as well as cool base, and both types have velcro. Again, someone that knows specifically about the Dodgers can probably help. Ricardo

Thanks for the proof Robert.....as Ricardo mentioned, I had not seen a Dodger jersey with velcro before actually used on the field. It's obvious they have had them from the pictures provided.

Once again, this is a fine auction and obviously the folks involved have done their homework. It's almost unreal to think in the current invironment of the hobby that an auction of such high integrity is actually being offered. Congrats, GUU. I hope it does well, and you guys eventually attrack the lion's share of the industry as your reputation grows.

thanks for the kind and encouraging words - just a ton of work goes into launching these things, but i've really enjoyed the process so far. unfortunately there's a lot of jaded collectors out there, and for very good reason imo, that have grown so accustomed to being treated unfairly that they're quick to assume the worst, something that will take a lot of time to overcome in terms of guua earning their trust, confidence and benefit of the doubt. in fact i dropped the ball on a few lots that i will be addressing soon and am preparing to take my medicine...

but again, thanks for the thumbs up!
