    Cracked Bat Scenario from Dugout

I wanted to get board member's feeling/thoughts about the following situation involving receiving a cracked bat from the dugout. Here are the two scenarios:

    1) Receiving a cracked bat from a player that has his initials or number on it, but does not have his name on it. He does autograph the bat for you, but does not make it to the majors or is a fringe major league player.

    or

    2) Receiving a cracked bat from a batboy that has a player's name on it, but the player you have no attachment to, does not play in the league, and/or never played in the majors or only played in the majors for a few games.

I would feel that the bat from the player has more of an attachment to me (coming from the player), but would be interested in hearing other people's thoughts.

    Agreed.

bats that I get directly from players or even the batboys have more of a story to them for me, and thus I am attached to them more. I have a unique story for each one of them, and always cherish looking back on the day that I received it.
    Thanks,
    Bobby
