I got three things. Here's my Geronimo 1976 uncracked Reds bat graded a 9.5! Got to love that 10% buyers premium, great prices, and great service.

I also snagged a 1976 Bicentennial... my first Bicen. John Mayberry, slight handle crack, but no deductions for it (I don't understand all their grading criteria). Looks like the bat shows great use. There were a couple others I was interested in, but decided to limit myself to just one.

I picked up the Chris Speier Bicentennial Bat last night for my Alameda Sports Collection.

Unfortunately a SF Giants and/or Speier fan wanted it too and the bidding went higher then I had hoped it would. :(

Good job Dewey. I told ya I was too broke to bid on those 76 Reds bats, but I broke down and got the Perez and the Geronimo. That Spier bat wasn't cheap. Why did it go for so much?

What do they do with the lots that did not get bids?

Anyone know????

I'd call or email them. They just might sell them to you for the minimum bid. It's worth a shot. Troy got right back with me today when I emailed him.

This was is my first Mears auction and i was impressed...the 10% bp is awesome, i cant believe how much bp and commission some of these houses charge.

But i won the shoe lot, Jack Sikma and Christian Laettner single shoe, Alvin Robertson and Alonzo Morning unsigned, and then a couple unknown players which are at least old vintage nikes

The lot i really really wanted, the bidding got out of hand and i finally backed down.

Not exactly sure but Speier was a pretty popular player with the Giants so I'm guessing a Giants collector was bidding on it too. It's the only f-ing Bicentennial bat that went that high so I guess it was my crappy luck to draw the one that had someone just as interested as myself.

Congrats on the two '76 Reds bats!

Nice try world series, but I ended-up with the gems of the bb shoes: James Worthy from "Showtime" (1983-85) Lakers and Rick Fox from the 3-peatKobe/Shaq era both for less than $500. A steal......:p

I really wanted that Joe Jackson blanket but did not get home in time to bid. That was a VERY nice example. :(
