This seller bought the Pujols game used barrel from 2009, and recently bought the handle a 2008 and molded them back together! And doesnt even mention that!

This was predicted when it was originally bought my him, just a matter of time before it popped up again this time with a barell attached...Unreal. It's not even that I have a problem with..I wouldnt mind him putting it together but he should include is in the listing and disclose what he has done.

Wow, did this just list? Personally I think listing it the week before Halloween would have fetched more of an audience....

Amazing.....

I have been at odds with this seller for several years - he is from Lebanon, MO. and is what you would call an extreme opportunist - not unlike your boy that sells the older MLB hats of star players  (tim_455qkf (http://myworld.ebay.com/tim_455qkf/)!)

This dude has been doctoring bats, forging signatures and every other type of memorabilia related fraud that's out there...as Rudy documents for you.

Don't bother emailing him hate mail, he doesn't care what you think of him.
If he lists an item for $1000 that he paid $200 for, he will allow it to sell for less than he paid for it...seriously. He will actually take a loss (and often does) in order to list this type of stuff.

I think he gets off, literally - on seeing his items questioned in places like this. Maybe it's the attention. All I know is that most Cardinal collectors know him well enough to steer clear of him (even though he occasionally lists a legit cool item or two).

What will he have to sell this for to make his money back. I know he paid about $70 for the knob but I cant remember if he had a barrel he bought on ebay or not.

Yes, he bought a 2009 barrel one or two weeks before he bought the 2008 knob. I can't remember what he paid for the barrel, but it was multiple hundreds of dollars.

To the seller of this bat, if you're trolling this thread, don't be surprised if a member of this forum turns out to the buyer of your little item and charges you with interstate mail fraud.

Imagine the thrill you'll receive from a felony conviction of up to five years and fine of up to $250K.

Did anybody print off or save those listings where he bought the parts, for posterity sake when the bat resurfaces?

Geee... "Thanks Rudy". I know where the listings are... I was curious if anybody saved them for when they fall off of ebay. The reason this guy delisted the item was probably because of all the evidence against him. So, I thought it might be a good idea if one of us kept the evidence, because it won't be out on ebay for very long. But I guess you can just respond to this by reposting the 10th post in this thread.

I bet he sold the bat off Ebay. Its a trick alot of sellers use, you send them an offer and they email you that they will accept but only if you agree to complete the transaction off Ebay so they can avoid the seller's fees. It does not appear that Ebay removed the listing and why else would he delist it? The worst that would have happened would have been Ebay removing the listing which for them is rare as we all know. The idea that the seller would be prosecuted was wishful thinking. There are not enough jails in the world to hold everyone who knowingly commits fraud on Ebay and even if someone paid his asking price in full it was only $1,500 which is not going to bring the government running.

It's possible eBay pulled it after being notified that Frankenbat actually was created from two different pieces of lumber from two different seasons. I know I contacted eBay and supplied links to the previous auctions... suspect I wasn't alone.

Jeff-

Frankenbat is a great way to describe this thing. Besides it being mixed matched...what a terrible botch job on a repair. This seller had to know collectors would realize what was going on...he may of done it in spite even. I stated earlier that if he wanted to make a hideous bat out of two items he bought I wouldn't have minded..I'm sure it would have sold just fine to someone wanting a cheaper solution to a pujols gamer just like... However to try and pass this off has just a bat that was repaired, how terrible is that??. I'm hoping a deal was not made off ebay on this "frankenbat".

I would be interested in seeing his operation. Normally, I am not one to come out and say that something is fraudulent, but some things are just painfully obvious. If you put him on your watch list, you will notice that his profile and things for sale are almost like a diary of what NOT to do.

I think the seller ruined a perfectly good bat barrel and handle, now they are both junk.....

I feel sorry for the buyer, but look at the pics and you can see the repair easily.

Good luck on getting your money back...I hope you do!!!

Just out of curiosity does anyone know if the 2 pieces to begin with are legit???

Or are we all just assuming so?

I am not trying to offend anyone here but it would be interesting to know if they are real to begin with???
