Bonds helmet - thoughts?

Anyone notice this? It's probably best under Auction thread but fig'd this gets more traffic. Basic question is whether someone got a hell of a deal or not? I bid on it but wasn't fully invested in it. There's a close match on the decals from a photo "circa 1989" but the auction helmet shows more use than any photos or baseball cards I researched.

not a match. the numbers are closer on the auction helmet than the ones in the pic.

I believe bonds wore a 7 1/4 early in his career.

Here are some additional photos of the helmet. I have always heard that Bonds was a size 7 when he played for the Pirates.

Bonds wore a size 7 1/8 during his early days as a Pirate and 7 1/4 in the early 90's as a Giant
