Picked up this '86 Padre game used Eric Show jersey. I'm going to get this framed along side my Rose 1978 game used jersey. Thought they would look cool side by side together.

I haven't been able to photo match the Show jersey, maybe someone can lend me a hand.

The '86 Topps card looks close. The Padres matchs the pin stripes, but the RAK doesn't seem to line up. Can't get a good enough pic from his '86 and '87 Fleer card. The photos on ebay are too small and I don't own either card.

I just received these bats yesterday and it's already a good start to the new year. The first bats is a cracked Harvey Kuenn model O16 from 1960-1964 when he played for the Giants. The other bat is a cracked Robin Yount bat from 1977-1979. Both bats show great game use to them. This Yount bats has been my Great White Whale for some time now. The only reason I bought the Kuenn bat is because he was the manager of the 1982 American League Championship team the Milwuakee Brewers.

Greg, Abe, Mike - Thanks a lot guys. It was pure luck the way I found this jersey. I am super pumped about this being my first Justice jersey with his name on the back. The fact that it's a #33 shirt makes it pretty rare too since out of his 14 year career, he only wore 33 for about 5 months.

Ruppert Jones LVS (most likely used by Gary Pettis) and has a repaired handle crack. I knew when I purchased it that it was most likely Jones issued and used by someone else as Jones has never worn #24. I am terrible at dating bats, but I think it is from his time with the Angels (85-87). In 1985, Rufino Linares wore #24 and played 18 games and had 43 ABs. In 1986 and 1987, Gary Pettis wore #24 and played in close to 300 games and had over 900 ABs. So, the probability that Pettis used the bat is much higher.

Wade Boggs signed game used bat. The pine tar is light for a boggs gamer but the pattern is consistent for one. There is a light coat near the center brand and light transfer on the lower handle. there is a good and concentrated contact pattern below the labeling on a left hand hitters side, and there is also good and concentrated contact pattern above the the labeling, which is a little odd. But the way the patterns are so concentrated in one area, they could only be done by a great hitter like boggs. On the knob there is 12 written in Boggs typical style for that time period. All and all I think a very nice gamer with moderate use from a HOF.

In regards to the Ken Griffey Jr. "gamer", I would say the tape job is off too. Looks like an attempt to match it, but the tape width looks off. Too much bat exposed between the tape crossings. Does not look like Jr. prepped this bat.

Just my opinion, I would recommend the winner look into this, as there are now two members "concerned".....

Since the photomatch, I have found a few more interesting tid bits. In the game on 9/9/2009, Butler hit 3 doubles, becoming the first player since before 1900, to have 4 3-double games in a single season. And he won AL Player of the Week for the week ended 9/14.

My next task is to try to determine if the bat was used in a 2 HR game just two days earlier on 9/7/2009.

Billy Butler, the Royals' doubles-hitting machine whose 13 hits led the Majors last week, was named the American League Player of the Week presented by Bank of America on Monday for the period ending Sept. 13.
Butler went 13-for-31 (.419) in seven games, and he had five doubles and two homers, which added up to 24 total bases -- tops in the AL. His 12 RBIs also led all Major League batters.
On Wednesday, against the Tigers, Butler rapped out three doubles for the fourth time this season, twice what any Royals batter has done in the club's history and something not accomplished in the Majors since at least 1900, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.
Currently riding a nine-game hitting streak, the 23-year-old first baseman tops the Royals in a number of offensive categories, including average (.303), doubles (46) and RBIs (80). The weekly award is the second of Butler's career, both coming within a month of each other. He had previously been singled out for the week ending Aug. 10.

djusticefan-Wow that's another great kyle okposo item.I wanted to send you a "pm" but you still have yours turned off.But yeah kyle is a great kid.My brother was great friends with another gopher player troy riddle.Troy played for them until 2004.And so since then me and my brother go to almost every game and stay after the games and get autographs and have got to know all the players.Plus every year they have a skating party and sign a team poster and other autographs.So i got to meet and know kyle okposo.And he has a freind who is a student trainer for the gophers who told me that kyle loved that the islanders got him out of there.And that he loves playing there.That stick is very nice and photomatched.Sure can not top that.Anyway ,tell your friend to tell kyle he still has fans here.By the way you are a lucky man to have a friend like that who can get you such great items.:)

Yeah Okposo is one of my favorite players, he's such a hard worker and a very nice guy. I work for the Islanders and I'm friends with the equiptment manager so I am able to get some things through him!

I'd like to thank the forum's own BTPH for my latest pickup. It's a Crolls of Alameda durene jersey most likely from the 1960's. Crolls was a semi-pro baseball team from my hometown.

BTPH found this jersey in vintage clothing store and went out of his way to purchase it for me. I'm grateful for forum members like him that are always willing to help a fellow collector. It is going to go nicely in our 2nd Annual Sports Exhibit!

Picked up this game used Twins Baseball from May 23rd, 2009. I have a photomatched Mauer bat that he hit homeruns with on the 23rd, 24th, and 25th. So I plan to get a ball from each game to display with the bat.

It was also Anthony Swarzaks Major League Debut, which he won to go 1-0. There were only 8 balls authenticated from this game.

Nothing like customized cleats as those are my favorites to collect too. I can tell you from experience that Nike cleats with that many customizations are hard to find as the average player can't get Nike to do that for them.

This is one jersey i really wanted, as I could not afford the $10,000 Peyton Manning Jersey...haha...
It's got some sweet grass stains which I was able to photomatch. And i love that he's a 3 'star'/time captain.
This jersey was used @ Tenn on Oct 11, where the Colts won 31-9. Brackett had 6 tackles in the game.

Brackett is one of the most underrated players in the league, and he's just finally getting noticed. He was a captain on the 07 super bowl team. So, Good luck to him, and the colts in the super bowl!!!!

It was at Albert's home until a few weeks ago, at which point he gave it to a family friend who sold it through a third party.

I imagine the problem with being a friend or family member of someone with any historical significance is that you're too close to appreciate it. To you, they're just good 'ol Joe Schmoe.

Fortunately, most collectors have no such problem :)

The Vazquez is going on eBay and I want to keep the Francoeur but it depends on how much I make in return for the Vazquez. It's a pretty sweet helmet! I brought my girlfriend with me when I picked up the helmet & jersey in Atlanta and I pulled it out of the bag and all she could say is "oh my god you're so weird" :D

I have made some trades and have gotten a game issued Kenji Johjima bat (Really cool I think), an OSU Thaddeus Gibson game worn glove from the National Championship game versus LSU (signed and marked appropriately with his then #37 he wore his freshman year), and two Raiders gamers from former Buckeyes Chris Riehm and Rory Graves. If anyone wants to see photos, I can post them.

Cracked and Beat to Hell.
Very Very Happy. The pics on ebay were dark, so it was a gamble. But i did end up paying a decent amount but the use is TREMENDOUS. Very Happy!!

yes sir, those are seam impressions. The barrel is beat like a rented mule. ABSOLUTLEY pounded. There were no scans of pics of the bat on ebay. WHen i got it today in the mail, and i raised to the light i almost fainted. I could not get over how pounded it was:D
