How vintage? #32 Ohio State jersey/shirt

So I got this garment here. I got it from a used clothing store in North new Jersey. i have abuddy who is a Buckeye fan so I figure he would like it. As im trying to figure out who #32 was I was directed to this site. There was a thread about helmets and Jack Tatum was brought up. From what I know about garments (im in the tshirt printing business) this thing is pretty old.

The main thing about it is its of some kind of synthetic blend. Im going to guess some kind of polyester. There is no tag inside the collar, but there was something on the left hip (usualy spot for jersey tags)at one point in time.

You can see by the screen printing on it its of a "different era" or done by someone not very good at what they do. Thats not really important but it does help date it for me. Its in perfect shape. Newer screen printing has much cleaner edges and not such think layers.

So now her eis the weird part. Jack tatum is from Passaic New Jersey about 15 min from where I got this. He started college in 1968 and I thin kwas issued #32. He played there from 1968 until I think 1971. So if this is Tatum related it can not be older then 1968. If it is Tatum related I would think it would have been issued while he was in school or shortly after. Since it was bought kind of near his home town ......... can this thing be 40 years old? Maybe he gave it to someone and it sat in an attic until now. That would be cool !!

Any help you can offer is great. Maybe I can get it signed !!!

I took a bunch of pictures to help you get an idea of the fabric used, the print quality, and the stitching style. I think the biggest hint might be the former patch on the front and the stitching.

Since I cant edit let me make it known, Im not saying this is somethign he used or wore. I dont think its something issued to a NCAA team. I think something a fan would wear. Im just trying to get an idea when it was made.

My guess is this was made by Medalist Sand-Knit with a removed adhesive backed tag from the late 70s or early 80s. Fan jersey, not at all like a gamer.

Thanks, Ill try and do some research on that name you provided. I was trying to edit my first post to make it clear about it being something a fan would buy but Im not familiar with the forums and the edit feature.
