It would be interesting to know how it is exactly they go about verifying this mark. Given that is is unseen by the naked eye they must use a special light in order to see it.

If they use a specific kind of light that only PSA/DNA has then how can the general public verify that the ball for sale is legit? Would they just have to go on the sellers word? How would the seller know? Would it show under a black light?

Is anyone familiar with how a collector that is selling one of these balls, or a collector interested in buying one of these footballs would go about verifying the mark that the NFL uses to distinguish these balls?

Great idea on keeping the counterfeits down, but if the public cannot verify the mark, then what is the point? Not to point to dishonesty, but the stickers/holograms are not impossible to remove and place on other items, ya know.

Maybe PSA/DNA does this so that you have to send it to them and have them check it for you - of course for a nominal fee.
