There's no way on Earth it's what the description is and from what I know Jason Bay was never part of the Expos or Blue Jays organization. http://www.historicauctions.com/search/list/auctionid/58543/

Hi, Jason Bay was a part of the Expos organization back in about 2002, I believe. I also believe that he was drafted by the Expos.

The jersey appears to be the same style that he is wearing on his 2002 topps rookie card.

Not sure about that jersey. The tagging is pre 2000 tagging as Russell changed tagging after the 99 season.

Also take a look at the Tejada jersey on historic. The tags on that have me guessing whether or not it's authentic.

The Bay is most likely a 2000 Vermont Expos (NY-Penn League) jersey. Bay's first year in pro ball was with Vermont in 2000. I have a very similar jersey, right down to the Russell tag, of another Vermont Expo fom 2000 (guy named Bolson), and that was Bolson's ONLY year in pro ball. A 1-year carryover, especially on a minor league jersey, doesn't seem very far-fetched. In fact, given the Expos budget limitations, they both may be late 1990s Expos MLB BP jerseys that were sent to the minors where screened-n NOBs were added.

Not long after he was drafted by the Expos, he was dealt to the Mets and played in their farm system for the 2002 season. I wonder what success the Mets would have had if they had only held onto this talent for a little while instead of trading for high priced / washed up talent.

Knowing how the Mets run their farm system, I'm sure if they held on to him they would of said he was the next Manny Ramirez, but when he got his at-bats as a Met, he would of looked more like Victor Diaz. And to only think Victor was the next Manny...and so lucky that the Mets had him to be a bust. Anyway, here's the tags to the Tejada jersey and to me it doesn't look right, anyone else's opinions. The tagging is ideal for a Rawlings year 2000 jersey. While it may have been possible for a player to wear a 2000 leftover jersey in 2001, I would tend to believe that a player with the stature of Miguel Tejada would have his own sets of jerseys manufactured for him that same year and not be wearing leftovers...they are usually worn by spring training invitees, call-ups, etc. I would also tend to think that a 2000 leftover, it probably would not have been worn in late September, when the flag patch was put on the jersey. I am also skeptical about how crisp the tagging appears, the "J" on back appears to be wrong font, and the "4" appears to be placed too high.

I personally would have too many questions about this one to feel comfortable.

To me, the tags look too new to be used from 2001.
