Hi Brian,

This might be the first time I have asked or your assistance in dating a bat...

I have a Mookie Wilson bat, 1983-1986 labeling period. It's a W278 model natural color signature model bat that reads 'William "Mookie" Wilson.'
Can you tell me what year(s) he ordered this type of bat? It would be great to know if it were actually from the 1986 WS Championship year.

I have him ordering the W278 only once on 4/24/84, he ordered 12.
34.5in/31oz FT finish.

His last order from us in 1986 was in August so I don't think he even got WS bats from us that year. His favorite model was the W279.

Looks like my bat is a 1984, but more importantly, it is 1 of only 12.

I have a W279 Wilson.

What's the difference between the W278 and W279 (other than the fact that's it's ONE louder)?
