Dave Bushing of MEARS is active in pennant dealing and collecting. You might try him at the MEARS website if no one on this site can answer your questions.

Not sure exactly what it's worth, but I've seen dozens of ABA pennants sell for $200+ on eBay, over the years.

ABA collectors are some of the most serious and competitive around. Good ABA material, pennants, programs, game used, photos, etc always carry very high premiums.

that's a common version, they are on ebay all the time and go for about $20.

It's definitely priced high. The Adelsons always price their pennants at the high end of the spectrum. They do get a lot of nice material, but you have to spend "top dollar" to get it. I have purchased many pennants from them in the past, but only when I was convinced I would not see that pennant elsewhere (for a very long time).

If you are patient, you can probably acquire this one for roughtly half of what they're asking. Anyone seriously considering this one would have to have it at the very top of their want-list, and possess little patience.

I agree. The Adelsons prices for ABA pennants are extremely high. There are several other dealers that attend the National every year that are much more affordable. And, as mentioned, you just have to be patient.

Apparently they got what they wanted as the listing has ended with probably a call from a collector who did not want to risk not getting it.

I remember well Triangle Sporting Goods in Bay Ridge selling these pennants way back when. I loved the ABA. And I loved the way the basketball looked when it spun in flight.
