    Yankees Catchers in 1979

Who was the starting catcher for the Yankees the next game after Thurman's death, Jerry Narron or Brad Gulden? I want to say Narron, but I also read that Gulden started the next game?

    Thanks

Both: The August 3 game against Baltimore (Munson died on August 2) found Narron starting, but Gulden finished the game after Narron was pinch-hit for by Oscar Gamble.

Oddly enough, Narron was the backstop in Munson's LAST game, as well (8/1 in Chicago). That game, Munson played at first base.
