GUUers,

I know a bit about modern basketball uniforms, but not nearly as much about vintage ones. Here is an auction on eBay for Earl Monroe's New York Knicks game worn jersey, shorts, and warm-up jacket. I am wondering if Warren, Greg, and some of our other vintage basketball experts can chime in here and offer some thoughts. If real, I would have interest in adding this to my personal collection. I just can't find the photos or information I need. Here is the link:

Thanks in advance.

I am not an expert.
Jersey looks on-point. Adhesive Sand-Knit tag removed from jersey. Right size (42) for Warm-up.
Pearl wore this style in his last season with the Knicks (79-80).
Number "15" on warm-up tag, indeed, looks like it was written 30 years ago.

Ditto.

Looks like he only played 51 games that season. I don't have the breakdown of home & road.

Plywood and dirt roads cannot be good for business...

I would have found those photos sooner, but there were quite a few nudes of Marilyn, that I had to wade through. :D

When he didn't respond to my second email, I had a feeling I would soon see that the auction had ended.

Yeah, I'm guessing that somebody offered him a lot (probably not what it was worth) and he ended the auction early. If he didn't quite know the value and if somebody offered him several thousand dollars, he could've be tempted. lol

Be interesting to see if it shows up somewhere else and how much it goes for, or if somebody bought it for their own collection.
