I hope you are joking. But he is the next up and comer for the white sox. Their next "star in the making". He's a good one.

I don't follow the Sox so I don't know much about him. Looking at the stats from his rookie year I just don't see anything justifying this price but folks have their reasons for wanting certain items.

He's been discussed throughout MLB, he switched to second this year and there are high hopes for the Georgia product.

He is a second year player who will probably be a solid major leaguer for awhile and possibly make a few allstar teams. I am not as enthused about him as some because I don't regard him as being on the level of an Evan Longoria, Matt Witters or a Jason Heyward and at second base he has a long, long way to go until he is on the level of a Chase Utley, Aaron Hill, Dustin Pedoria or Robinson Cano. And alot of Sox young "future homegrown stars" do not turn out that way i.e. Josh Fields, Brandon McCarthy and Brian Anderson. Sox stuff goes for a lot of money on MLB Auctions because they have a group of dedicated collectors who fight each other for the stuff. I have seen stuff of nonstar players go for a fortune on there.

Put it this way...if Gordon Beckham were a Cub, the prices would be twice as steep....and either way, based far more on hype and projections than actual substance.

The White Sox themselves have hyped this guy tremendously...his rookie game-worn jerseys at SoxFest started at $1,000 each.

A homer like Hawk thinks the urinals at the Cell are better than sliced bread.
