Game Used Bat with American Flag Ball Mark! Ideas?

Any ideas of where this would come from? What kind of ball?

It is a Travis Lee Devil Rays bat. Most likely from 2003-04, due to uniform number written on the end instead of Schutt Sports sticker.

I think in 2002 rawlings put a flag on the memorial day, 4th of July & 9-11 baseballs........
