Hi Guys, New Member, Need help with a Rolando McClain Bama Helmet photomatch

I bought the Javier Arenas and Rolando McClain Helmets from the Steiner company recently. The Javier Arenas was a cinch to photomatch but I can't really get a good photomatch on the Rolo Helmet. I thought I would ask the good folks here who are outstanding with this sort of thing. I recently got into the game worn industry after getting tired of sports cards. I am only after Bama game worn helmets and jerseys and Shaun Alexander game worn Seattle stuff as well. If anyone could help with the McClain photomatch I would appreciate it. thanks John

Where have you looked so far for a match? i am always looking through college pics since I collect UGA and will keep an eye out for Rolo. Please post pics of your collection when possible so us college guys can see them!

Thanks so much for your help. I searched getty images and flickr so far. It is so tough to find an up close shot of Rolando for some reason. I have a couple of nice game worn jerseys including Coffee, I will post some pics when I get a chance. Nice to see a fellow SEC fan on the boards.

Here goes one I found on AP Images. Also try checking US Presswire. It looked like they had a couple that might help you photomatch it.

thanks, I tried to search that site and it only gave me images from the 2009 season, not sure how you were able to get this photo from the 2008 season. Any pointers? thanks John

Try this link. If it doesn't work then click on Advanced Search in upper right corner and type in Rolando McClain 2008.

Thanks I figured it out. Definitely the exact model he wore, but tough to definitely say this is the helmet from that photo. I guess sometimes in the game used industry you have to take their word for it.

Try going to Alabama's website at www.rolltide.com (http://www.rolltide.com)

Under the heading of "Sports" click on Football. Over on the right side there are different categories to choose from such as roster, schedule, stats, etc... Select Archives and click on schedule listed under the 2008 season. You can then highlight and select any game from 2008. When you select a game, info from that game will pop up to the right of the 2008 schedule. You can then scroll down and choose photo gallery from that particular game. Each game typically has anywhere from 30-80 pictures.

I would imagine that there are some Rolando McClain photos within the photo galleries for each game.

I think the photo I posted and one of the US Presswire photos from 11/29 vs Auburn give you a good start. In both pics you can see a mark on the white stripe in the same area as the one on yours.

Thanks to both of you guys. I will check out the rolltide.com thing for sure. Also I didn't really even notice the little hole in the white strip until you noticed it, definitely looks to be identical. Thanks so much for assisting me. John

It also looks like the #5 on the left side of the helmet is a little slanted and very close to the #2. It looks to me in Getty pictures from the 08 MissSt. game that this could be your helmet. The pic is not close enough for a match, but the slant in the #5 does look visble IMO. I would try to focus on that game at the Bama site.
