Any know of a way to remove black sharpie from a baseball????

Try a little baking soda and water to form a paste and just rub it on the spot you want to remove. I have not personally tried this on a baseball but it has worked for me on other sports items.

leave it out in the sun for a few hours that should kill it

honestly I haven't tried doing this so I don't really have a clue. I did a quick search on Google and that really didn't come up with anything helpful either.

I was kidding about leaving it out in the sun but I do have a baseball that was signed by Jimmy Fallon a few years ago at a game that the sig has almost completely faded away and also a baseball signed by Wayne Gretzsky that also has faded almost into obscurity neither of which has been subjected to an extreme amount of sunlight in their lifetimes.
