ANNOUNCING: GUU's 2006 Jersey Tagging Contest!!!

Hello Everyone,

We have heard your requests to work together to create a jersey/tagging photo database that you can access. Since we were 'Created By Collectors...For Collectors' we agree that this is a great idea and we have done a number of things that make this happen. That being said,

We are proud to announce Game Used Universe's 2006 Jersey Tagging Contest!!!

Thanks for the question. Over the last few months we have speced out what we believe is a very user-friendly application that will allow members to submit the images and give the approvers the opportunity to review them for legitimacy. The application will be launched prior to August 1st (when the contest starts) and we will provide full instructions on how to submit the images.

Please feel free to let us know if that answers your question as well as if you have any others. We are really excited about this initiative. Specifically, we feel this will give jersey collectors access to resources they have never had before...much the same way GUU is giving bat collectors information that the have never had before either.

This sounds like a cool idea. Insentive usually makes people try harder. What sports are acceptable? What eras? Are college and minor leagues O.K.?

Hello BTPH,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you on this. When the contest goes live we will have a complete explanation of all the contest rules on the site as well as instructions for participation. The plan is to have jersey images from the parent organizations of MLB, the NFL, the NBA, and possibly the NHL eligible for credit in this particular contest. However, while they will not receive credit for this contest, that is not to say other types of jerseys can't be submitted for the purpose of building the database and helping other collectors.
