    Opinions on this Griffey "gamer"

I have been searching for a reasonably priced griffey gamer for a while now and i came across this auction, I know the sig is legit but the tape job just dont look right to me. Griffey always had a neat tape job and even the tape looks irregular. Opinions please:

PSA certified only the signature on this one. I thought the same thing on the tape job.

The tape is wrong. Should be thinner and less overlapping at the top. As we all know, the swingman era bats were very broadly shared with teammates and spread around to friends during this period. Sig is fince, but he signs anything he is told to. I would look for a better one.

Avoid. One of the best tricks in the business is the certified signature trick. You get an item signed which is not hard and have it certified by MLB, Steiner, PSA or another company people trust and now you have an mlb, steiner or psa certified item so saying that in your description and title is techincally true and doctor it up to be GU and people see the hologram and they don't realize that the certification is ONLY for the signature and buy and pay a premium for it.

It is no good. period. I would even question the sig, but no doubt the tape job is a joke.

          Who is this seller??

Seller mostly sells arod gu stuff and other high end items. Whats crazy is that the bidding is at what an unsigned real griffey has been selling for recently. This is another example of feedback score helping to hurt our community

yankees506, I was gonna post the same thing, tape is off and no team name or swingman, everything just looks wrong, but someone will try to buy it since the seller has high feedback

I was going to mention the "no team name" part. Also, does Griffey use that much pine tar?

Typically he doesn't used any pine tar, just mota stick, and a sticky spray, but not pine tar.

His handle tape wasnt always thin strips with perfect spacing... it typically was, but there were exceptions. Not saying the bat is good, just saying, there may be a few legit bats with atypical tape.
