Was it common for a team to have...

different manufacturers for jerseys during a single season?

I have two 1971 road Twins jerseys; one made by Spaulding and one made by Rawlings. I believe the Rawlings is a spring training jersey. Now on ebay is a 1971 Twins home jersey made by Wilson.

Wanted: Minnesota Twins throwback or special event jerseys.

I asked Dave Grob at MEARS about this Twins jersey and he provided the following reply: "For the Twins, the homes where manufactured by Spalding in 1961. I don't have examples from 1962. From 1963-1971 for flannels, I have 44 jerseys in the data base and the home manufacturer is Wilson and the road is Spalding. You will see some minor league or spring training jerseys manufactured by Rawlings."

Dave also mentioned that he would gladly answer any tagging questions on the MEARS site (www.mearsonline.com) but in order to post on that site you have to list a full name and email address to post on their forum. If you are not comfortable with that, you can always email them through the site.
