Re: Lelands Auction
I also missed out. My screen name should be "under bidder." I especially wanted the Joe Torre bat, but didn't go crazy because of the weight (4 ounces heavier than records) and because the description didn't say anything about a 9 being written on the knob.Jeff Scott

In my dreams I won the '68 Stargell jersey but w/o an extra 10K to spare it will have to remain a dream for now.Comment

Re: Lelands Auction
After several emails with Mike Specht, I won the Torre bat. It dates to 1971, prob. his best year.
I'll try to post better photos when I get it.

Ken, let me know how it looks when you get it. I have a 1968-70 Dal Maxvill Adirondack 129A that has the band removed (to make it look like an H&B from a distance, I assume), and I just had this fear the Torre bat could have been used by Maxvill. That, and the weight, kept me from bidding more. I hope it has Torre's #9 on the knob. If you're Leland's, why wouldn't you include a photo of the knob -- or at least mention what (if any) number is written on the knob?
Here's my Maxvill bat:

Re: Lelands Auction
Got the Lelands winnings yesterday (2 large packages and no a single receipt or any kind of paperwork??) The Torre has a blank knob. I really like the bat.
