    Game Used Universe Transaction Platform

Game Used Universe is pleased to announce that we will soon be launching a new transaction platform for our members. The platform will provide both collectors and dealers the ability to buy and sell items directly on the GUU website. The fee structure for the new platform will allow for active buying and selling of legitimate items without exorbitant buyer and seller premiums. As with previous items sold through GUU, there will be no hidden reserves and no shill bidding in the auction format, and both 'fixed price' and 'best offer' options in the sale format. Monthly auctions will be held as well as sale offerings which will allow items to be made available on an ongoing basis. We will be announcing the details of the timing, fee structure, etc soon.

In an effort to meet the needs of our members, the executional aspects of the new platform will be led by Mike Specht, Greg Guy and David Louie, with others also involved. We look forward to this platform filling a void in the hobby by allowing collectors and dealers to access the collecting community with timely, regular offerings. The marketplace will cater to educated, informed buyers and provide for a faster turnaround of items from listing to final payment. Again, we will be providing further details shortly.

As the plans for the launch of the new platform are finalized, we will be happy to speak with anyone interested in offering their items through GUU. If you would like to discuss the possibility of selling your items, please contact Christopher Cavalier (chris@gameuseduniverse.com), Greg Guy (gregguy@hotmail.com) or Mike Specht (jackitout7@aol.com) to discuss your specific needs. If you have any questions about the details of the platform, you can contact us directly or wait for the future announcements as they will be providing additional details.

    Sincerely,
    Chris

Maybe I didnt read this, but does that mean the C to C section you have now will be closed when this new platform starts? In other words, will the new platform be taking the place of the current C to C section?

Echoing the above I think that this is a great thing for the hobby in general and this Forum in particular, I commend you Chris and look forward to learning more details.
              Thank you.

Re: Game Used Universe Transaction Platform

Thanks for the words of encouragement. We firmly believe that this project will fill a niche in the GU collecting community, and will prove to be of great benefit to both sellers (having a platform available that is focused primarily at the GU audience) and buyers (providing a high level of confidence in the validity of offered items.) As stated above, a more detailed announcement will be forthcoming shortly.

In response to Nate's question, the Collector-to-Collector Forum will continue, possibly with some revisions. Basically, it will remain as a venue for members to engage in transactions of lesser value items with no fees involved.

                Thanks.

Great idea guys - In reference to paying for an item, did the forum sign a User agreement with PayPal? I ask because if we use PayPal to pay for an item, our purchases would be covered - similar to the PayPal Buyer Protection Policy.

                      Thanks,

                      Jim
