Billy Loes, 11-season MLB pitcher who was part of three Brooklyn Dodgers pennant winners and once claimed to have lost a ground ball in the sun, died July 15 at age 80. His widow said he had been battling diabetes for many years.
Loes also pitched for Baltimore and San Francisco during his career, appearing in the All-Star Game as an Oriole in 1957.
Also, Larry Fritz, a 1975 Phillie with one PH AB, has passed away, as well.
