I recently bought a Hal Morris Cincinnati Reds Stix bat. It has #45 on the knob. I did a small amount of digging and found that Chris Hammond was #45 for a couple of years when Morris was there. Did a little more digging, found Hammond's foundation web site, sent an email asking if he ever used any of Hal's bats. Got the following reply less than 12 hours later:
"Yes, I did use Hal's bat during batting practice. It was a little heavier than mine so I had a better chance of hitting homeruns"
Good info, just shows you can get good replies on some GU questions if you can find a way and take the time to ask.
