Adam Dunn Photomatched 3 HR Game Bat (5 HR total!)

Well, I had no idea how much I loved this hobby until a week ago today. I just made my first photomatch and it's a whopper. It's Adam Dunn's bat from his 3 HR game on 7/7 (his only 3 HR game) and from his 2 HR game on 7/9. I managed to grab good stills from MLB.tv right before each HR. I bought this on the JT Sports site last Friday, saw the use and figured I could match it to something. The MLB hologram said it broke on July 20, so it was quite possible he had been using it the previous few weeks because of the usage present and I was quite elated with what I found. Needless to say, but John Taube will be getting more of my business!

Not sure if I'm going to keep this or sell yet, leaning towards keeping.

Ditto, If you like Dunn, then don't sell it too hastily. A 5HR photomatched bat is not really easy to replace.

That said, I have been looking to buy a Dunn for a while... :rolleyes:

Congrats. I recognize that bat as I sold it to John. I thought, what a horrible place for a hologram! My guess is the placement of the hologram meant it was tagged on a road game where he cracked it.

I brought a bunch of bats to the National and John picked up a few as did some other dealers there. I had told John I didn't check the holograms but my guess was that the Dunn bats I had in my box had some HRs on them! Last year I sold a Dunn jersey that the buyer got 3 HRs he photomatched the jersey to!

Glad it worked out for you which is another reason I love the slightly cracked bats. You get nice use and with the MLB hologram you get the last date it was used so you can work backwards in the photomatching.

I agree, but your team can't have him====hopefully the Nats sign him to a multi-year extension. The move to 1st base has worked well and has improved his value.
