Did anyone else watch this auction that ended last night for Babe Ruth bat?: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWAX:IT
I am curious what folks think this is. It lacks the clear tags of a store bat (has a 125 model and nothing on the knob), and it is within reason for Ruth specs (35 inches and still 36 oz). Yet it did not get priced as either a legit Ruth bat or a store bat. It looks like it might have been sanded down to eliminate the handle numbering since the stampings are so light.
The style looks wrong for him to my eye (handle too thick) but it is confusing to me and I wonder if anyone can educate me on that was up with this. It had tons of watchers. Did we all just miss a gold mine or did someone pay over $1000 for a retail bat?
